A key aspect of designing a GameFi project is its inflation design and overall sustainability. This brings into consideration of both product quality and the best practice possible to balance the sinks and faucets in the value flow of the game. Over the past years, web3 projects tinkered with their model with methods like selling ultra-rare collectibles and reserving buffers in the treasury design.
At ArchLoot, we observed how people spend their time, especially a long period of time in traditional games and on web3 products, trying to understand what drives their willpower to participate in an ecosystem besides the market circle. To protect and incentivise active gamers, the team devised a monthly pass system to maintain dynamic control over the production and distribution of substantial assets and resources.
The system comprises three types of passes: the Adventurer Pass, the Goblin Pass, and the Collector Pass. Based on a free-to-play model, the system offers 4 tiers of services to all gamers.
Background
Avatars in ArchLoot are assembled from NFT body parts. All NFTs fall into 4 levels of rarity: normal, rare, epic and legendary. Rarer NFTs have better skills and attributes that contribute significantly to their fighting capacities. When getting defeated, the durabilities of the NFT body parts drop accordingly, until they come to zero and become totally inapplicable in PVE. Potions can repair durabilities.
The survival and levelling up of your avatar require resources, including in-game materials and tokens, mostly the in-game currency $ALG. The dual-token model includes a governance token $ALT as well.
$ALG, in-game resources (including repair potions) and NFT body parts are dropped through chests, which can be acquired after defeating monsters or in the marketplace.
Besides tokens, tradable gears in ArchLoot mainly include NFT body parts, repair potions, common chests and boss chests.
No Pass (0Pass)
ArchLoot is a free-to-play web3 game that allows all users to enter without any investment. Users without any pass can still enter the game, build a tribe and start the journey from the Master Island.
Perks
No $ALG is accessible in chests.
Other gears and materials, including repair potions, are accessible in chests.
Gears and materials claimed from chests cannot be withdrawn from the account to the marketplace.
Items purchased from the marketplace (NFTs, $ALT, $ALG, repair potions, etc) can be topped up or withdrawn between the account and the marketplace.

Adventurer Passes can be free minted on the official website.
Goblin and Collector Passes can be purchased on the marketplace.
What happens after my monthly pass expired? Can it be renewed automatically with authorised payments?
All monthly passes will be issued with carefully designed limits and purchasers cannot secure a seat after their passes expire. You can try to purchase or free mint once again after one calendar month.
What happens when I own multiple passes? Can they unleash special effects?
Speaking of maximized earnings and perks, one account can use one Goblin Pass plus one Collector Pass. Other passes can be topped up after at least one of them expires.
What if I own mystery boxes that contain rare NFT body parts?
If you have purchased mystery boxes, you’re holding epic and legendary NFT body parts that no one else will easily gain in the game. They will help you to start the game with advantages and advance your journey more smoothly.
No matter you have a pass or not, the NFTs you have purchased can be freely topped up to the game or withdrawn later to the marketplace.
